Ranger Conducted Activities

Ranger conducted activities for the Summer 2006 season feature a Black Canyon Wonders talk and Ranger-led Kids' Activity at the visitor center.

The Black Canyon Wonders talk is a 10 minute introduction to the wonders you will see at the canyon. Visitors will meet with a ranger at the visitor center to examine the geology, hydrology, biology and history of the canyon. Times for this program are 9:45 am, 11:45 am and 2:45 pm daily.

The Ranger-led Kids' Activity is a weekend only program. Children and adults can take part and get an in-deth look at the rocks, minerals, and wildlife of the canyon. A ranger led hike is available upon request. Program times are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, every 20 minutes.
