The Department of Interior, along with other senior Administration officials, participated in the 80th Annual League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 13th to July 18th.
LULAC, the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States, is an advocacy organization focused on the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 700 councils nationwide.
Southeast Regional Director David Vela, San Juan National Historic Site Superintendent Walter Chavez and WASO Minority University Outreach Officer Bessie Sherman joined other representatives from Federal agencies to describe the "how to's" of navigating the federal government employment system, career options, scholarships, internships, and employment opportunities.
