Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Wraps Up Summer Saturdays Programs with “Fishing on the Upper Delaware” and “River Readings”

Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River

National Park News

The Summer Saturday programs wrap up in Hancock, New York by taking a look at "Fishing on the Upper Delaware." Join Park Ranger John Wells August 20th at 11:30am at the Firemen's Field to find out more about the fish in the Delaware and the history of fishing on the river. This area is rich in fishing tradition and abundant in resources that differ throughout the river valley.
Later that afternoon at 2:30pm at the Louise Adelia Read Memorial Library the children's program "River Readings" will have children discover the natural world around them through stories, songs, and crafts. "This is an exciting way for children to explore the natural resources of the Upper Delaware River" said Superintendent Dave Forney "Our young children will be the stewards of the river tomorrow."
For a schedule of events or for more information on these and other educational programs please contact the National Park Service at 570-685-4871 or check out the park's Special Events page at www.nps.gov/upde/pphtml/events.html.
