The medical standards program contract was recently awarded to Comprehensive Health Services (CHS), and full CHS services will resume on August 10th. As of this date, chief rangers are to submit requests for baseline and periodic examinations.
You will notice there are some small changes to the baseline/periodic medical history and exam form. These changes will not affect the actual exam, and you should proceed as you have in the past.
The Medical Standards Program provides guidance and support to regional offices, servicing personnel offices, parks, and employees in designated arduous duty law enforcement positions undergoing the medical review process established by Directorâs Order/Reference Manualâ57 (DO/RM-57), the National Park Service Occupational Medical Standards Guidelines.
If you have any questions, please contact Mark Harvey, acting medical standards program manager, at 202-513-7216, or mark_harvey@nps.gov.
