DSC Rolls Out Employee Recovery Recognition Program

National Park News

Last week, DSC director Sam Whittington presented a lapel pin of the Recovery.gov logo to Chris Henderson, senior advisor to the Secretary of the Interior and responsible for ARRA oversight. Chris is overseeing the implementation of more than $3 billion in ARRA investments departmentwide. Sam thanked Chris for his efforts in helping the bureaus by maintaining an open dialogue and creating a balance between oversight, assistance, and cooperation.

Sam also presented the lapel pins to the DSC project teams responsible for the first six DSC ARRA awards. He is giving these pins to DSC staff as they successfully award ARRA projects.

"We appreciate the commitment our employees have to the success of these Recovery projects," he said, adding that "this recognition is a small way to thank them for their diligence."

Denver Service Center is responsible for the obligation of almost $450 million in Recovery Act projects. All DSC employees with direct or indirect support for ARRA projects are accountable for accomplishing the goals of the Recovery Act, and DSC has tied its end of year employee incentive awards program directly to the performance of ARRA-related work.
