On June 17th, rangers, DEA agents, and other assisting agencies raided a marijuana grow site on Bolinas Ridge. One man, an 18-year-old Mexican national, was arrested at the plantationâs water source and another fled the site after being confronted by officers. Approximately 2600 marijuana plants were eradicated. Two days later, the other suspect, a 21-year-old Mexican national, was arrested on Interstate 5 in Kern County by NPS and DEA special agents. The arrest was made possible by close cooperation between NPS and DEA law enforcement officers. Information gained from the site and the two men is being used to further the investigation. They are being prosecuted by the Marin County District Attorneyâs Office. The following agencies participated in the operation; Point Reyes NS and Golden Gate NRA, Drug Enforcement Agency, US Park Police, California Fish and Game, Marin County Sheriffâs Office, US Coast Guard, and DOI-OIG.
