New Publications Posted To Center Web Page

The Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center (LLC) has posted a number of new documents to its web page, including the following:

Liaison Officer Lessons Learned – LLC staff recently interviewed seven liaison officers and liaison officer trainees from around the United States regarding their notable successes, difficult challenges, effective safety practices, and training recommendations for liaison officers.

Webinar on International Perspectives on Australia’s ‘Stay or Go’ Program – The LLC and the International Association of Wildland Fire will host a webinar entitled "Prepare, Stay and Defend, or Go Early" on June 30th at 4 p.m. MDT. This live web seminar will bring together international experts on fire management in the wildland-urban interface to discuss Australia's program and how it might or might not be applied to other fire-prone communities.

Pepper Hill Fire of 1938 – In October, 1938, eight men lost their lives suppressing a fire on Pepper Hill Mountain in Pennsylvania. This report provides the details of the fire, information concerning the deaths of the men, and links to the historical documentation that has been safeguarded for more than 60 years.
