Over 70 National Capital Region employees participated in a comprehensive compliance training session at the U.S. Park Police operations facility during the last week of April.
This 40-hour course offered both a general overview of the National Environmental Policy Act and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and provided managers and field personnel with the latest tools for preserving and protecting the Serviceâs treasured assets.
In the overview, attendees were introduced to the Fine Arts and National Capital Planning Commissions, as well as three State Historic Preservation Offices and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and learned how they impact the NCR planning process.
Congratulations to the staff of National Capital Parks-East and NCR for developing, sponsoring, and hosting this training.
