The NPS Fundamentals Training Program celebrated a major milestone when Kimberley Robinson, contract specialist at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, became the 3000th student to complete the NPS Fundamentals II course, held at the Horace M. Albright Training Center in Grand Canyon National Park. This special event was celebrated by staff and students with a cake-cutting ceremony.
Kimberley has been with the National Park Service family for about three years. Prior to joining the NPS, she served five years in the Air Force and worked as a long-haul truck driver. When asked how it felt to be the 3,000th employee to complete NPS Fundamentals II, Kimberley stated âI am humbled and blessed.â She advised all NPS employees to â⦠come to Fundamentals. You will learn a lot. Be a leader in the NPS!â
The five NPS Fundamentals courses are typically taken within a one-year period. The target audience is new employees to the NPS; however, all employees are welcome to apply.
âNPS Fundamentals training is the foundation of your NPS career,â said superintendent Lisa Eckert in welcoming the group to the center. We thank you and your supervisors for allowing you the time to attend. As our Agencyâs centennial approaches in 2016, new leadership must be in place â this means you!â
