Filmmaker Ken Burns and co-producer/author Dayton Duncan visited Yosemite National Park last week to preview a portion of their new film, National Parks: America's Best Idea.
It was a homecoming of sorts for Burns and Duncan, since it was in Yosemite Valley back in May, 2003, that they began shooting for the film.
In addition to three screenings for park staff and partners, Burns and Duncan participated in interpretive walks, Yosemite Institute programs, receptions, and dinners. They were also joined by representatives of WETA, the flagship PBS station for the project, and executives from the Yosemite Fund.
The visit was handled under the incident command system (Jennifer Treutelaar, IC). Media interest was high.
