Gateway Arch 40th Anniversary

You are invited! On the weekend of October 28-30, 2005, Jefferson National Expansion Memorial will host a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the completion of the Gateway Arch with special activities and events exclusively for current and former Gateway Arch employees on October 29 and 30. Turning Back the Clock: Friday, October 28 "Turn Back the Clock" on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and take a tram ride to the top of the Arch at the original tram ride ticket price ($1.00/adult; $.50/child), receive commemorative ticket reproductions, see the film, Monument to the Dream, the Academy Award-nominated documentary on the building of the Arch, tour the new exhibit, The Creative Spirit of Eero Saarinen, and meet the construction workers who built the Arch and get their autographs. Cost: Free
St. Louis Sites Tour: Saturday, October 29 Spend Saturday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a tour featuring three St. Louis landmarks. Stops include Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, Ted Drewes, and your last chance to visit Busch Stadium. If the Stadium has been demolished, an alternative site will be added. There is a maximum limit of 40 people for this tour (minimum of 25). Meet at the Old Courthouse. Cost: $18
Dessert at the Arch: Saturday, October 29 Remember working all those special events at the Arch? Now you get to be the honored guest. On Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. a special reception will be given in the visitor center of the Gateway Arch with an open bar, delectable desserts, and hours of conversations with former co-workers. Cost: $25
Riverboat Cruise and Brunch: Sunday, October 30 A brunch and cruise on a Mississippi riverboat will take place on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Don't miss this view of the Arch from the river. A minimum of 100 participants is required. Cost: $25
Lodging For our out-of-town guests, a block of rooms at the Millennium Hotel (200 South Fourth Street 1-800-325-7353) will be held until September 19th. Special room rates of $78 and $98 are available. Mention the "Gateway Arch Reunion" when making reservations.
