The National Park Service is closely monitoring the recent appearance of swine influenza in Mexico and the United States. Staff are working with the Department of the Interior (DOI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other federal agencies to better understand and minimize the potential health risks of swine flu to employees and visitors.
Rather than clutter the NPS email system with frequent individual communications, subject area experts will be keeping up with events and providing information through the use of a unified swine flu web page. NPS managers and staff are encouraged to check this site often. Frequent updates will reflect the changing knowledge about this outbreak and will be used to convey consensus federal, departmental and agency guidance.
