Weekly Legislative Activities Report

The Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs puts out weekly reports on hearings, new legislation and other activities on the Hill. The following is the January 2nd summary.

Note: The House’s next scheduled meeting is on January 6th unless otherwise notified.  The Senate was in recess through December 26th.

New Public Laws

On December 23, 2008, President Bush signed into law H.R. 6184 (Castle), a bill to provide for a program for circulating quarter dollar coins that are emblematic of a national park or other national site in each State, the District of Columbia, and each territory of the United States, and for other purposes. It is PL 110-456.
