Discovery of Flight Foundation president Clyde Kizer and Outer Banks Group superintendent Michael Murray have signed a fundraising agreement that allows the Discovery of Flight Foundation to raise $279,000 for the donation of an interactive exhibit to Wright Brothers National Memorial.
This exhibit, entitled âThe Five Challenges of Flight,â teaches children and adults alike the key elements that the Wrights discovered and perfected in order to reach their successful first flight. This is done through the exhibitâs video presentations, interactive computer terminals, working reproduction artifacts, and display narratives. Since its installation, âThe Five Challenges of Flightâ exhibit has become an integral part of the parkâs education offerings.
The Discovery of Flight Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization which seeks to rediscover the Wright brothersâ experimentation, discovery and methodology through the reconstruction of original Wright brothersâ aircraft and through the creation of a living classroom for people of all ages.
