The inaugural Grand Canyon Visitor and Resource Protection Division leadership program was held last month. The program was developed in-house as an avenue to prepare individuals for future leadership positions within the National Park Service.
Twenty employees from the division were selected to participate in the year-long program, which included monthly meetings, selected readings, discussions, public speaking and analytical writing assignments. Monthly guest speakers also shared their thoughts and experiences on leadership and how individuals can prepare themselves for management roles.
