Independence National Historical Park has been honored at the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) 2008 Diamond Awards banquet held at The Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC. This capstone event recognizes the engineering achievements of Pennsylvania consulting engineering firms, demonstrating the highest degree of ingenuity to the client, the profession and society.
The Honor Award for Studies, Research and Consulting Services is one of ten Honor Awards and is being awarded for the excavation of the Presidents’ House Site. The Honor Award for the Presidents’ House Site was awarded jointly to Jed Levin, the park Archeologist and Research Director for the Independence Living History Center Archeology Laboratory, the URS Corporation with sub-consultant Erdman Anthony, and the City of Philadelphia.
The American Council of Engineering Companies of PA, founded in 1968, is devoted exclusively to the promotion and enhancement of the business interests and profitability of consulting engineering and related firms with offices in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
