A PBS documentary entitled “Treasures of the Harbor,” which will focus on Gateway NRA’s units around New York Harbor, will be broadcast at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Among other park features, the film will have segments on:
Ruffle Bar, a tiny island in Jamaica Bay that is now a wildlife refuge
A group of young people camping out at Floyd Bennett Field – their very first camping trip
Flights from the same airfield made by Wiley Post, Amelia Earhart and Howard Hughes
The largest community garden in the city, also at Floyd Bennett Field
Staten Island’s Fort Wadsworth, one of the country’s oldest military sites
