Search Underway for Missing Man in Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park

National Park News

Shenandoah National Park Rangers are searching for Christopher David Beach, a 40 year old Fredericksburg area man. Beach walked away from his vehicle and into the woods near Panorama on Sunday, October 28, 2007, at approximately 6:00 p.m. His fiancé immediately reported to park officials Beach’s actions and that he was despondent. Short thereafter, search operations were underway. Resources worked overnight looking for Beach, and search operations in the park continue today. However, it is possible he may have exited the park along the Route 211 corridor. Christopher Beach is described as a Caucasian male, with short sandy-brown hair, 5’ 11”tall who weighs approximately 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a yellow T-shirt. Over 20 employees and volunteers, including ground searchers and dog teams are currently involved in the search. National Park Service personnel are being assisted by Dogs East Search and Rescue and Page County Sheriff’s Department. Anyone with any information about Christopher Beach is asked to call 1-800-732-0911. For additional information about the search and rescue operation please call 540-999-3300.
