On July 21st, one of the nine cables that operates the south tram failed, resulting in a power outage that interrupted service to the top of the Gateway Arch and inconvenienced visitors to the park. We greatly appreciate the patience and cooperation of all our guests who were involved.
It is important for all to know that safety measures on the trams functioned properly and there was no danger to visitors. Because safety is our highest priority, the south tram will not operate again until all nine cables are replaced.
In the meantime, the north tram has been thoroughly inspected for safety concerns and is currently operating. Our summer schedule remains 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
Please consider planning your visit to the Gateway Arch early in the day to avoid large crowds and the possibility of tickets for the top of the arch being sold out for the day. Tickets to the Gateway Arch are available by calling 877-982-1410 or on the internet at www.gatewayarch.com
