Many Google Earth users look for their homes, places of work, and familiar or exotic places. Now you can visit the 1200-mile Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail in 3-D. When you open the file in the free Google Earth program, you'll see the historic route in today's landscape, the location of expedition campsites with links to journal entries, related historic sites of interest, 3-D buildings, 3-D trail topography, and more.
Just visit the Anza Trail website at http://www.nps.gov/juba, scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. The Anza Trail file was developed by San Francisco State University Geography intern, Jeff Haran. The file will be updated over time to add new features.
