On May 11th, 380 students from the Hodgenville Elementary Schools celebrated Field Day at the park. This was the first year that the elementary school partnered with the birthplace.
Park staff led nature walks, manned a touch table, and taught the students how to play frontier games. Tug O’ War was the most popular game.
Field Day, started during John F. Kennedy’s presidency, is an annual event that encourages physical activity for students.
