On the afternoon of June 1st, the Coast Guard received a cell phone call reporting that a woman had fallen into the water in a rocky area along Schoodic Point. Rangers responded on-shore, and a 41-foot Coast Guard utility boat was dispatched from Southwest Harbor, arriving on scene within 20 minutes. They pulled 56-year-old Faith Wise from the ocean and began CPR. She was transferred to an ambulance at Winter Harbor and was later pronounced dead. The park is investigating the accident.
