COWPENS NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
On SATURDAY, JUNE 30TH Cowpens National Battlefield will be presenting a full day of park activities culminating with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Starting at 9:00 a.m. there will be ongoing living history demonstrations at the 1828 Scruggs House. There will be historic reenactors dressed in period clothing portraying prominent figures of the day, musicians performing 18th century music and song, historic weapon firing demonstrations, children’s programs, and ranger led walks through the battlefield. Starting at 8:00 p.m. the Spartanburg Community Band will be performing patriotic music leading up to the fireworks finale.
Bring the family and enjoy the park grounds, visitor center and picnic area at the scene of the 1781 battle at the Cow Pens, a major turning point of the Revolutionary War. All events are free to the public.

In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks will be rescheduled for July 1, 2007.
