Hiker Finds Body Of Apparent Suicide Victim

The body of 48-year-old Kevin Tell of Akron was found by a hiker on the Buckeye Trail early on the morning of Sunday, April 8th. After checking the victim, the hiker returned to the Pine Lane trailhead, flagged down a passing motorist, and reported the incident. The hiker then led rangers, Peninsula police officers and Valley FD personnel down the trail to the scene. Attempts to revive Tell were not successful. He had reportedly suffered from depression in the past. There’s no indication of foul play. Ranger Lois Neff and the Summit County Coroners Office are investigating.
