Public Notice of Smoking Restriction at Devils Tower National Monument in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations, Title 36, section 1.5:
Consistent with applicable legislation and Federal administrative policies, the superintendent of Devils Tower National Monument has determined it necessary to prohibit smoking anywhere within the Monument, with the exception of smoking within a privately owned vehicle, provided that no ignited material is placed anywhere outside of the vehicle. This prohibition is due to very high fire danger at the Monument and is effective beginning July 20, 2006 and will remain in effect until further notice.
