Amistad National Recreation Area is pleased to announce that a Draft General Management Plan and Environmental Assessment (GMP/EA) is now available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The GMP will guide resource protection, visitor use, and park operations for the next 15-20 years. The draft document is the culmination of an extensive team effort that included consultation and coordination with park partners, other agencies, and the public.
The document is available for review at the park’s Visitor Information Center, at the Del Rio Public Library, and online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov. In addition, a public meeting will be held on August 15, 2006 at 7:00 PM in the Kennedy Room of the Del Rio Civic Center. All members of the public are invited to attend and to provide input on the plan.
