Have you always wanted to know how to find certain constellations or stars? Here is your chance to learn how to identify them. The National Park Service is hosting a Special Speakers series each Friday for the summer season beginning June 23rd at Voyageurs National Park.
Wendy Graves is the first special speaker. She will present her program entitled, Star Finding. Wendy Graves is a physics professor at Rainy River Community College in International Falls, Minnesota. The evening’s activities will give visitors of Voyageurs National Park a chance to learn about star naming and how to use a Planosphere to find constellations and various objects in the night sky. The Special Speakers series is held at the Woodenfrog State Forest Campground Refectory near Kabetogama, Minnesota from 7:30 – 8:30pm. Programs are sponsored by the Friends of Voyageurs National Park. No fee or registration is required to attend.
