Learn about plant and animal life, from algae to invertebrate animals, during this tide pool walk with biologist Bob Lemon and naturalist Annie Prevost. The activity is scheduled for 9 a.m., Sunday June 11, meeting at the American Camp Visitor Center, 4668 Cattle Point Road.
The program is free. Call the park at (360)378-2902 for accessibility information. Some agility is required because the group will be jumping around slippery rocks.
The focus for this year’s walk will be algae and small, invertebrate animals such as snails, sea stars and mollusks. The tide pools are located in the coves below American Camp's bluff trail. Bring rubber boots and possibly a kneeling pad (such as an old towel that can double as a hand wiper), sun screen and rain gear.
