Job Announcement: Visitor Use Assistant

Cabrillo National Monument welcomes nearly a million visitors to the park each year ? and the first person to greet them is a Visitor Use Assistant. The park is currently accepting applications for a GS-5 Visitor Use Assistant position at the park?s Entrance Station. This 1-year position shares responsibility for collecting and accounting for fees and disseminating information; operates a cash register; performs opening and closing shift functions; issues entrance receipts, park passes, and federal recreation passports in accordance with established guidelines; completes shift reports; and may assist with resource management projects and special events.

The best candidate will be experienced in fee collection procedures, can effectively communicate orally, and be able to work under mental stress and fatigue due to the high volume of personal contacts.
