Recreation Resource Management, Inc. (RRM) won the concession contract award for marina-related services Curecanti National Recreation Area (Curecanti) starting with the 2007 operating season. The term of the contract will be for 10 years. The selection was announced by Michael D. Snyder, National Park Service (NPS) Intermountain Regional Director.
RRM?s proposal was selected under the provisions of the 1998 Concessions Management Improvement Act (CMIA). That act made a number of changes in how concessions contracts are awarded and is meant to enhance competition for NPS concession contracts.
The NPS solicited proposals for the business opportunity at Curecanti in September, 2005. Two proposals were received in December, 2005. The proposals were from RRM and Elk Creek Marina, Inc. Elk Creek Marina, Inc. is the previous concessioner at Curecanti. An evaluation team of NPS employees analyzed the proposals based on criteria specified in CIMA. Guidelines used to evaluate the proposals can be found at http://concessions.nps.gov/policy.cfm.
