Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offers campsite reservations through the National Park Reservation Service (NPRS) for the following campsites:
Platte River Campground: May 26, 2006 to September 4, 2006. Each campsite can accomodate up to 6 people.
Group Campsites may be reserved at:
Platte River Campground-Group Campsites: May 5, 2006 to October 1, 2006.
D.H.Day Group Campground: May 26, 2006 to October 1, 2006.
Bay and Weather Station Group Campgrounds (backcountry camping) on South Manitou Island: May 26, 2006 to September 23, 2006.
All group campsites require a minimum of seven (7) people.
Reservations through the NPRS may be made between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. eastern time up to 5 months in advance beginning the 5th of each month. See the NPRS website for a copy of the Campground Reservation Booking Window. Availability is limited, so make your reservations early.
To make a reservation over the phone, simply call 1-800-365-2267. When prompted, enter the Park Code "753"(for "SLE") to select Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. If you are calling from outside the United States or Canada, please call 1-301-722-1257.
To make a reservation via the internet, visit the NPRS website at http://reservations.nps.gov.
NOTE - Effective January 1, 2006, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore increased fees for those limited number of campsites in the park that are available through the national reservation system. Fees for first come - first serve sites (non-reserved) remain unchanged. The fee increase applies only to those campsites reserved through the national reservation system.
