Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River will honor the January 31, 1872, birth of the famous author with its annual winter opening of the Zane Grey Museum in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania on January 28, 2006 from noon to 4 p.m.
Known as the ?Father of the Western Novel,? Grey resided in Lackawaxen for thirteen years from 1905-1918. Zane Grey wrote nearly 80 full novels and numerous short stories, as well as articles and books on fishing and other outdoor activities.
The National Park Service will provide free access to the exhibit rooms in the Zane Grey Museum, on Scenic Drive in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, along the Delaware River. A variety of Zane Grey novels and videos are for sale at the museum, along with reprinted versions of Grey?s fishing books.
