A combination of storm systems has brought two and a half new inches of snow to the rims of Black Canyon bringing the total accumulation to about 12 inches.
The cross country skiing conditions on the rim roads is good, but your ski poles will poke through to hit the road surface below. If skiers don't mind that it can be a good work out.
Snow shoe conditions are marginal due to a lack of depth. Best shoeing can be found along portions of the Rim Rock Trail, upper Oak Flat Trail and if you ski out the North Rim, the North Vista Trail.
