Holiday Closures At North Dakota National Parks

Visitor centers at national park sites in North Dakota will be closed Christmas Day as well as the day after, December 26. These facilities are located at Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site and the North and South Units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The visitor centers at these three areas will also be closed for two days on New Year?s Day and January 2.
The entire park at Fort Union Trading Post NHS will be closed during these four days. The site and the Bourgeois House Visitor Center will be open daily on all other days 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central time. For further information about this site check www.nps.gov/fous or call 701-572-9083.
The earthlodge at Knife River Indian Villages NHS will be closed for the four days the visitor center is not open. However, the trails will remain open with parking at Two River Trails and the North Forest Trail. The visitor center is open daily, excluding holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mountain time. Theodore Roosevelt National Park will be open for wildlife viewing, hiking and camping during the period the visitor centers are closed. However, a portion of the South Unit Scenic Drive may be closed due to snow and ice. The North Unit road will also be open to Mile 6. The Medora Visitor Center is open throughout the winter 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT except for the winter holidays. The North Unit Visitor Center is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT.
