The National Park Service, Outer Banks Group in North Carolina (Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Wright Brothers National Memorial, and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site) is recruiting for many 2006 temporary summer seasonal positions. Most positions are filled from April through October. Lifeguards work from May through September.

Current salary rates are: GS-4 ($11.81/hr); GS-5 ($13.21/hour); GS-7 ($15.85/hr); WG-3 ($12.32/hr); and WG-5 ($15.01/hour). Salaries will be adjusted in 2006.
Positions to be filled are: 15 Recreation Assistant-Ocean Lifeguards, GS-4 and GS-5 (Nags Head, Buxton, and Ocracoke, NC); 20 Visitor Use Assistants-Fee Collectors, GS-4 and GS-5, (Nags Head, Buxton, Kill Devil Hills, and Ocracoke, NC); 21 Park Rangers Interpretation, GS-5 and GS-7 (Manteo, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Buxton, and Ocracoke, NC); 2 Forestry Technicians, GS-4 (Buxton); 8 Laborers, WG-3 (Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, and Buxton, NC); and 5 Maintenance Workers, WG-5 (Nags Head, Buxton, Ocracoke, NC).
