Charles (Chuck) Caha, 64, passed away on September 19th while grading a section of backcountry road in Death Valley National Park.
Caha was born in David City, Nebraska, and had been a resident of Pahrump, Nevada, for the past 22 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a Vietnam veteran. Chuck was considered by his peers to be the best heavy equipment operator in the park. He was a great family man who loved to party hard and had a gift of gab. He was happiest behind the wheel of a tractor and any kind of “big boy toy.” His smile and his laugh were contagious and always seemed to light up the room. He will be greatly missed by all.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his daughter Traci (Corey) Myers, his son Jeff (Erica) Caha, step-children Renee Munson, Jeff Eves and Patty Lapp, and many, many friends. There will be a celebration of his life held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 28th, at the Moose Lodge in Pahrump, Nevada. Letters and cards of condolences for Mary and the family can be sent to Mary Caha, PO Box 1622, Pahrump, NV 89048.
