National Park News

Under the auspices of Chief United States District Judge M. Christina Armijo and in the spectacular scenery of Frijoles Canyon in Bandelier National Monument, fifteen new citizens took their citizenship oath on the Fourth of July.

Included were candidates from Australia, Canada, Ecuador, Israel, Mexico, Russia, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom.

This second annual ceremony was hosted by Bandelier in partnership with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Speakers included Judge Armijo, the Los Alamos County administrator, a representative form Senator Martin Heinrich's office, and Superintendent Jason Lott.
