Seneca Falls, NY – The 165th Anniversary of the First Women’s Rights Convention is cause for celebration. This year the celebration falls on the exact dates of the original convention, July 19 and 20. The park, along with several museums in the Village of Seneca Falls, comes together every year to host Convention Days.
There will be exhibits on Bloomers, Lacemaking, with demonstrations of Phrenology, living history portrayals of Convention organizers, period reform music performances, and two dramatic presentations this year. In addition there will be two special programs, one with artist Carol Flueckiger, who will discuss her work with period documents and clothing; and the other led by United Nations Women on current women’s issues around the world.
