On April 5th, law enforcement rangers from the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in St Johns County, Florida. This was the fourth consecutive year that they've participated in the run.
Approximately 50 participants ran over three miles from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office to the parking lot at Castillo de San Marcos. The run benefits Special Olympics Florida athletes and raised nearly $2,000.
Law enforcement officers from agencies across the state participate in the torch run each year before the beginning of the Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games, which this year begin on May 17th in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
