On Monday, October 17, 2005, at 7:00 p.m., Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is presenting a program entitled, “Duty Well Performed, the 21ST Ohio Volunteer Infantry.” The program is presented by Mr. Brad Quinlin. The lecture is free, open to the public, and will be held at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park visitor center.
Mr. Quinlin moved to Georgia in 1982 and with the abundance of Civil War history in the Atlanta area, he soon fell under the spell of this conflict. He began studying the Civil War in 1983 and joined the 21ST Ohio reenacting group in 1988. Soon after he began doing serious research specifically on the 21ST Ohio, with a particular interest in letters and diaries the men may have written. After twelve years of research, he found almost 500 letters, five complete diaries and several photographs. Mr. Quinlin, with friends who are equally interested in this topic, is working on a book which will be entitled, Duty Well Performed.
