NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson led the celebration of Founder’s Day at Homestead National Monument of America with a program on exploring the frontier of the past (the settling of the American West) and exploring the new space frontier of today. He spoke about living on the space station and the direction of the space program today.
Hundreds of visitors participated in the program. NASA provided many educational materials for teachers and families, plus many autographed photos of Anderson.
The Prairie Astronomy Club and Omaha Astronomical Society were on hand with telescopes to share the night skies and many children received the new NPS Night Sky Junior Ranger booklets.
