Through cooperative coordination between staff at the park and nearby Fort Hunter Liggett, 553 military passes were recently distributed to active duty military personnel at the fort.
Rangers went to Fort Hunter Liggett on July 16th and 23rd to distribute passes and provide information on Pinnacles National Monument. The free passes drew a big crowd – 225 passes were given out on the 16th and 328 on the 23rd.
The fort’s Facebook page carried this observation: “At $80 each for those who have to pay, that's a big thank-you from our federal recreation community to those who serve!”
The passes are good for free admission to federal recreational facilities for a year from the issue date. They are free to active duty and active Reserve and National Guard service members.
