A 69-year-old man shot himself twice in the stomach on Tuesday morning, June 5th at Gateway National Recreation Area's Great Kills Park on Staten Island, New York. The man was standing in a grassy area by the parking lot across from the ranger station. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) and U.S. Park Police were called to the scene. The wounded man was taken by ambulance to Staten Island University Hospital North. NYPD is the lead agency in this ongoing investigation.
