Two maintenance employees working in the Telegraph Picnic area came upon a man who appeared to be sleeping in his car on the afternoon of April 24th. When they looked more closely, they saw that there was blood inside and immediately called a protection ranger by radio. The maintenance employees said that they saw the vehicle pull into the parking area around 10:30 a.m., that it was there when they went to lunch at 11:30 a.m., and that it was still there when they got back. Rangers secured the scene until county police arrived. It appears that the man committed suicide, as a weapon was found inside the vehicle. An investigation is underway.
