Superintendent Dean Alexander welcomed Mitar Kujundzic, the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States, to Dayton Aviation Heritage NHP on Monday, November 14, 2011.
Ambassador Kujundzic took time from his busy schedule to visit Dayton’s national park while he was in town for events honoring the late Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, the principal architect of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords between Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia. A bridge over the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton was renamed for Ambassador Holbrooke on Sunday, November 13. That night also saw the awarding of the Dayton Literary Peace Prizes, including a lifetime achievement award named for Ambassador Holbrooke won by novelist Barbara Kingsolver.
Cordell Williams, from the staff of Dayton City Commissioner Matt Joseph, escorted Ambassador Kujundzic on his tour of the park.
