September 18, 2010
The Friends of Hubbell Trading Post NHS, in partnership with the National Park Service, present two Native American Art Auctions each year. The next auction will be on September 18, 2010. The auction will include contemporary and antique Navajo textiles, Pueblo Katsina dolls, pottery, paintings, carvings and baskets from many tribes. Preview for the auction is from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with the auction beginning at noon. Auction artwork will be available in everyone's price range from just $20 to well over $4000.
In addition to the auction, arts, crafts and food vendors will be available during the day and the trading post store will be open for your enjoyment.
Each event is held outdoors in a big tent at the National Historic Site in Ganado, Arizona.
Artists must enter their work for the auction, September 13 - 16. Only authentically handmade Native American art objects will be accepted in the auction and at the vendor tables.
