This gravel bar and dry stream channel of Chalone Creek is on the east side of Pinnacles National Monument (below the new bridge). In 1998 heavy rains resulted in debris flows that destroyed the bridge and spread gravels throughout the valley. The debris flows possibly contributed to the death of these trees.
